Today, the State Institutions-related Standing Committee on National Development and Heritage of the Parliament visited Villa College as part of their review process for amending the University Bill. This bill proposes that colleges can achieve university status within 15 years, if they meet the requirement criteria set by the Attorney General.

The committee’s visit included an extensive tour of Villa College’s state-of-the-art facilities, guided by Rector Dr. Ahmed Anwar and Vice Rector Dr. Ali Najeeb. During the tour, committee members received a detailed briefing on the college’s operations, resources, and academic programmes.

The Vice Rector, together with the academic staff, provided in-depth insight into the college’s resources and educational programmes, highlighting Villa College’s capability to meet the proposed criteria for university status. This visit emphasises the pivotal role Villa College plays in the national education system and reaffirms its commitment to academic excellence.
